Tourism education in Azerbaijan to be aligned with international standards
Nərmin Qocamanlı
Work is underway in Azerbaijan to modernise the material-technical base and educational infrastructure of institutions to train highly qualified personnel in the tourism sector.
Operativ Media reports that under the "State Program for the Development of Tourism for 2026–2030," the infrastructure of specialised educational institutions—including the Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University, Baku Tourism Vocational School, and Mingachevir Tourism College—will be upgraded.
The measures aim to align educational curricula with international standards, while increasing the number of vocational trainees and tourism graduates. In addition, dual degree programmes will be introduced to attract high-scoring applicants to the field.
