Historic visit to Karabakh: Diplomats presented with new realities created by Azerbaijan

A two-day visit to Karabakh and East Zangezur by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan has begun, aimed at familiarizing them with the large-scale restoration and reconstruction work being carried out in the liberated territories.

The visit is accompanied by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration.

Nearly 150 representatives representing 58 countries and 9 international organizations are participating in the visit.

In a statement to Operativ Media, Rizvan Nabiyev, a diplomat and member of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations, said that the inclusion of Khankendi and Shusha in the visit program carries a special symbolic meaning.

According to him, for many years, these territories were among the most sensitive and painful topics of the conflict in the international information space. Organizing regular visits of the diplomatic corps to the liberated territories is one of the key elements of President Ilham Aliyev's peace diplomacy and the international presentation of the new realities shaped by Azerbaijan in the post-conflict period:

"Today, presenting these places to diplomats as examples of new life, reconstruction, and a vision for the future is an indicator of Azerbaijan's post-conflict realities," Rizvan Nabiyev said. The diplomat noted that the political discourse has already shifted from the topic of "conflict and confrontation" to the agenda of "restoration, reintegration, development, and peace." "This is a significant achievement in terms of soft power and information diplomacy. Azerbaijan no longer just explains the reality in its liberated territories; it shows it to the international community on the spot. This is precisely the main strength of post-war diplomacy: turning the created reality into an agenda of peace, development, and cooperation, and presenting it," Nabiyev emphasized.
