Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree approving the composition of the People's Council, the republic's supreme advisory body formed in accordance with the country's new constitution.

Operativ Media reports, citing Akorda, that 126 members of the Kazakhstan People's Council have been selected.

According to the decree, the council has the right to initiate legislation and can also propose national referendums.
