Liechtenstein names 23-man squad for match against Azerbaijan national team
Liechtenstein national team head coach Konrad Fünfstück has named a 23-man squad for the final two rounds of the UEFA Nations League against Azerbaijan and Lithuania.
Operativ Media reports that Liechtenstein will host Azerbaijan at the Rheinpark Stadium in Vaduz on November 13 before travelling to face Lithuania on November 16.
Nineteen-year-old defender Jonas Abidi has earned his first call-up to the squad. The Vaduz II player caught the attention of the coaching staff through his performances in regular LFV training camps.
Head coach Konrad Fünfstück stated that the absence of several players is a serious blow to the team. However, he emphasized that the current situation provides an opportunity for other players to prove themselves and take on responsibility.
Goalkeeper Tim-Tiado Öhri, who was sidelined for a long time due to injury, has also been recalled to the national team. He returned to the squad after completing his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury.
Fünfstück noted that they intend to improve on their previous results in the upcoming matches. Liechtenstein has collected 4 points so far in the Nations League in 2026.
The head coach added that his team performed well in their previous encounters against Azerbaijan and Lithuania and will aim to add to their point tally in the final matches of the year.
