Diesel prices rise in US

The average price of a gallon (3.79 liters) of diesel fuel in the US has reached a historic high of $6.

Operativ Media reports that this was announced by GasBuddy, an analytical service that tracks price dynamics in the fuel market.

"The average price of diesel fuel nationwide has reached the $6 per gallon mark. This is the first time in the history of tracking that such a level has been recorded," the report says.

It is noted that just a year ago, the average price of a gallon of diesel in the US was about $3.70. Thus, the annual increase has been $2.30.

Diesel fuel is considered one of the key fuel types for economic activity. It is widely used to power trucks, agricultural machinery, and construction vehicles.

As a reminder, in mid-August, US Vice President JD Vance stated that keeping oil and gas prices stable in the country, as well as preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, are among Washington's main goals in its confrontation with Tehran.
