US and Mexico close to trade deal
Operativ Media
US President Donald Trump has said that Washington and Mexico could sign a trade agreement in the near future.
Operativ Media reports that Trump, speaking in Gastonia, North Carolina, said the two countries are very close to reaching a deal in their negotiations.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources, that the next round of trade talks between the US and Mexico would take place in Washington on September 28–29.
According to the report, the US side will seek changes to Mexico's requirements regarding the export of artificial intelligence equipment to the United States.
Specifically, Washington plans to demand restrictions on the use of components manufactured outside North America, including in China, in such equipment.
