English club Liverpool is taking steps toward a transfer offer for Monaco's Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara.

Operativ Media reports, citing The Sun, that the Merseyside club has re-established contact with the 22-year-old player's representatives to ask to be kept informed of his situation. A potential move for Camara during the January transfer window is not ruled out, though compromises will be required from both sides for the deal to happen.

Although Camara was close to moving to Chelsea in the summer of 2026 for approximately €56 million, Monaco blocked the transfer at the last moment.

Despite this, the Senegalese player has continued his progress. He has started 10 matches in the 2026/2027 season, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Monaco head coach Filipe Luis described Camara as a player who "embodies the future of football."

Camara has been playing for Monaco since July 2024. His contract with the club runs until June 30, 2029. The Transfermarkt portal values the player at €55 million.
