India has announced that it will take all necessary measures to protect its interests after the US Congress passed a bill envisaging sanctions against Russia and Iran.

Operativ Media reports that India's Ministry of External Affairs stated they have taken note of the passage of the bill in the US Congress and are monitoring subsequent developments.

The ministry emphasized its commitment to ensuring the energy security of the country's 1.4 billion population. It stated that India will continue to diversify its energy supply sources, taking into account changing market conditions.

The Indian side has discussed this issue at a high level with US representatives in recent months. New Delhi conveyed to the other side that potential measures could impact both bilateral relations and the international energy market.

The Ministry of External Affairs noted that India is determined to take all necessary steps to protect its trade and economic interests.
