Two more Azerbaijani national team boxers secured victories on the fifth day of the European Championship held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

Operativ Media reports, citing the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, that Nabi Isgandarov, competing in the 70 kg weight category, faced Kalman Hanko (Hungary) in the quarterfinals.

The athlete won his third consecutive bout with a score of 5-0 (30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27). By reaching the semifinals, Isgandarov secured at least a bronze medal. His opponent on the path to the final will be John McConnell (Ireland).

Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) faced Muksim Abdulla (Germany) in the round of 16. The World Championship medalist won all three rounds, ultimately securing a 5-0 (30-27, 30-27, 29-28, 30-27, 30-27) victory. In his next bout, he will face Kevin Scott (Sweden).

Both bouts will take place on September 23.

The tournament will conclude on September 25.
