Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Mali's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdoulaye Diop on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Operativ Media reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan shared this on its X social media account.

During the meeting, the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-Mali relations were discussed. The sides paid special attention to strengthening political dialogue, intensifying mutual visits, and reinforcing the institutional foundations of bilateral cooperation.

The ministers emphasized the importance of further strengthening mutual support within the framework of the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement. The meeting also highlighted Azerbaijan's commitment to expanding cooperation with African countries and the African Union.

Following a broad exchange of views, Jeyhun Bayramov and Abdoulaye Diop signed a Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali.

The document aims to strengthen institutional ties between the two countries, as well as ensure a continuous and regular political dialogue.
