An event dedicated to November 8 – Victory Day was held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tabriz.

The event was attended by Morteza Mohammadzadeh, Deputy Governor of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province for Political and Social Affairs; Davoud Garshasbi, Executive Governor of Tabriz; Aliasghar Abbaszadeh, Head of East Azerbaijan Customs; Younes Jaele, Chairman of the Board of the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture; Mohammad Ebrahimi, Head of the Northwest Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran; Mete Zaimoğlu, Consul General of Türkiye in Tabriz, along with staff of the Consulate General and Azerbaijani citizens residing and studying in Tabriz.

A minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, followed by the screening of a video dedicated to Victory Day. A photo exhibition reflecting the significance of Victory Day was also organized.

Speaking at the event, Consul General Taleh Zohrabov noted that the restoration of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan is forever etched in memory as one of the most important chapters in Azerbaijani history.

Zohrabov emphasized that the political will, decisive leadership, and multifaceted diplomatic efforts of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev formed the cornerstone of the victory. He stated that the brilliant victory achieved on the battlefield by the heroic Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev opened a new chapter in world military history.

Noting that November 8 – Victory Day is a symbol of the unity of the Azerbaijani people, the power of the state, the multifaceted development strategy, and the national will, Zohrabov stressed that the liberation of occupied lands from the enemy stands as the most significant historical achievement under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the history of the independent Azerbaijani state founded on solid foundations by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, written in golden letters in the nation's history of honor.

Participants were briefed on the large-scale restoration and reconstruction work underway in the liberated territories, newly established industrial facilities, road infrastructure, the return of local residents to their native homes, the peace agenda, and regional cooperation.

It was highlighted that a 132-kilometer section of the Azerbaijan–Iran state border was also liberated during the 44-day Patriotic War. The ongoing large-scale reconstruction in those areas, the construction of highway and railway lines, and the Aghband-Kalala highway bridge over the border Araz River—which is near completion—will further expand economic cooperation between the two countries and their border regions.

The event concluded with an official reception hosted by the Consulate General.
