A meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers is underway, chaired by Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

Operativ Media reports that the meeting is discussing the 2027 state budget and related documents.

The prime minister stated that the consistent and purposeful policy, along with the multifaceted diplomatic activities pursued by President Ilham Aliyev so far this year, open up new opportunities for the country's future development.

Today, while advancing a consistent peace agenda aimed at strengthening sustainable peace and stability in the region, Azerbaijan keeps the restoration of liberated territories, the Great Return, economic diversification, and the country's long-term development among its key priorities.

The next medium-term period, covering 2027-2030, presents new strategic challenges and goals for the country in light of the complex geopolitical and economic processes unfolding in the region and global development trends.

These circumstances make it necessary to efficiently utilize existing opportunities, taking into account the priorities of state policy in the upcoming stage, and to further strengthen preparedness for potential risks.

According to Ali Asadov, an effective budget and fiscal policy plays a crucial role in implementing these tasks. Properly directing financial resources toward key priorities, maintaining socio-economic stability, and achieving strategic development goals are among the primary conditions for the upcoming period.

This approach requires financial planning to be closely aligned with the country's long-term development priorities and currently implemented strategic documents.

“In this regard, 'Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development' and the 'Strategy for Socio-Economic Development in 2022-2026' prepared on its basis, as well as the 'First State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories,' are of particular importance.

These documents are being successfully implemented, and this year is the final year of the Strategy's execution.

Drafts of the new Strategy covering 2027-2030 and the Second State Program on the Great Return have already been prepared, extensively discussed in the Economic Council, and submitted to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Final touches are being made to the Strategy in connection with new state programs recently adopted by President Ilham Aliyev, and it is expected to be approved in the coming months,” Asadov noted.
