US President Donald Trump told reporters, according to Operativ Media.

According to him, he held a phone conversation the previous day with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, during which the parties reached an agreement.

Trump said the US was preparing to impose a 50% tariff on Canada, but this decision will be dropped after Ottawa accepted Washington's demands.

The US president noted that the documents have yet to be signed, describing the deal as "very fair" for both sides.
