Jeyhun Bayramov: Azerbaijan has become a donor country
“Azerbaijan's transformation into a donor country is of particular importance.”
Operativ Media reports that Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov said this at a conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), themed "Promoting Global Solidarity through Cooperation for Humanitarian Support and Development."
The minister noted that the 15th anniversary of AIDA is an important opportunity to assess Azerbaijan's transition from an aid-recipient country to a donor state and a more active participant in international development cooperation.
Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan's international aid policy is based on traditions of solidarity and philanthropy. According to him, the country's development and the strengthening of state institutions have transformed individual philanthropic traditions into systematic efforts encompassing humanitarian aid, knowledge exchange, and development partnership.
