The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MFA) has issued a statement regarding the so-called "presidential elections" held in the Tskhinvali region of Georgia.

Operativ Media reports, citing the MFA, that the statement reaffirmed Azerbaijan's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.

"We do not recognize the so-called 'presidential elections' held in the Tskhinvali region of Georgia, nor their results," the statement emphasized.

As a reminder, the so-called "presidential elections" in South Ossetia were held on September 18, 2026.
