The Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran has issued a notice to citizens wishing to return home.

Operativ Media reports that the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran shared this information on its X social media account.

"Attention citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan currently in the Islamic Republic of Iran, regarding the cancellation of scheduled passenger flights from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan! Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have purchased flight tickets to return to Azerbaijan but are unable to do so due to flight cancellations are requested to contact the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran or the Consulate General in Tabriz. This is to facilitate and ensure their return through the land border crossing points operating between Azerbaijan and Iran," the notice said.

Azerbaijani citizens who purchased tickets to Azerbaijan from Iranian airlines are advised to contact the sales offices of those airlines to obtain refunds:

It should be noted that flights operated by Iranian airlines to Azerbaijan have been temporarily suspended.
