North Korea has declared that it will continue its policy of possessing nuclear weapons, regardless of the stance of the United States and its allies.

Operativ Media reports that this was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui while commenting on the outcomes of a trilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of the United States, Japan, and South Korea.

According to the minister, Pyongyang's determination to possess nuclear weapons remains unchanged, and the country will not back down from this position.

Choe Son-hui noted that Washington, Tokyo, and Seoul reaffirmed their commitment to the denuclearization of North Korea in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions. She said this demonstrates that the three countries are maintaining their previous approach toward Pyongyang.

The foreign minister emphasized that nuclear weapons are considered a key element of North Korea's inviolable state sovereignty and the ultimate guarantee of its protection.

Choe Son-hui added that demands for denuclearization will only further strengthen North Korea's stance toward the United States.

The minister also stated that North Korea's status as a nuclear state will remain unchanged, regardless of the positions of other nations. She added that the reshaping and consolidation of a geopolitical architecture centered around a nuclear-armed North Korea is inevitable.
