Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has addressed the Coordination Meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Operativ Media reports that Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the incoming OIC Secretary General, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, on his appointment.

The minister emphasized the importance of solidarity against the backdrop of rising Islamophobia and reaffirmed Azerbaijan's support for the State of Palestine.

Expressing serious concern over the escalating military conflicts in the region, Jeyhun Bayramov called for strengthening diplomatic efforts and joint action within the OIC framework to prevent discrimination and violence against Muslim communities worldwide.

The minister also provided information on the institutional work being carried out in preparation for the OIC Summit to be held in Azerbaijan in 2027.
