Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Benin, Corinne Amori Brunet, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Operativ Media  reports that the meeting focused on establishing regular political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and deepening coordination within international organizations, particularly the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

The sides emphasized the importance of making more effective use of opportunities for mutual economic and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the existing potential in key development areas.

At the end of the meeting, the ministers signed the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Benin on the mutual exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports."

It was noted that the agreement will establish a legal and institutional framework to facilitate high-level mutual visits and develop a long-term diplomatic partnership between Azerbaijan and Benin.
