On November 5, a concert program was held in the capital city of Santo Domingo to mark Victory Day, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Dominican Republic (resident in Havana). The concert, dedicated to Azerbaijani national music, was the first cultural event organized in the Dominican Republic.

According to information provided to Operativ Media by the embassy, the event was attended by a representative of the Presidential Administration of the Dominican Republic (Deputy Minister), officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the Ministry of Culture, as well as members of the diplomatic corps and the local public.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Ruslan Rzayev noted that this year marks the 6th anniversary of the glorious victory in the Patriotic War. He informed attendees about November 8 – Victory Day, written in golden letters in the heroic chronicle of Azerbaijan's history, which brought an end to Armenia's occupation of the country's historical lands. The ambassador emphasized that this historic victory, embodying the courage, determination, and unity of the Azerbaijani people, holds an exceptional place in the nation's modern history. The diplomat also highlighted that Azerbaijan promotes a agenda of lasting peace and cooperation in the region, detailing the large-scale restoration, reconstruction, and development work being carried out in the liberated territories.

Touching upon bilateral relations, Ambassador Rzayev spoke about the active contacts, achievements, and prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation observed between the two countries in recent times. Noting that 2027 will mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, he stressed that this significant anniversary holds major importance for strengthening bilateral ties, expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, and developing friendly relations between the two peoples.

Afterward, tar performer Ibrahim Babayev, who uniquely combines elements of modern and folk music, along with members of his ensemble—Parviz Mammadov (piano) and Vafadar Ramiz (percussion)—performed selections of Azerbaijani national music as well as a piece from Dominican music.

The musicians' performances, which generated great interest among the participants, were met with prolonged and loud applause from the audience.
