Hikmet Hajiyev speaks on religious and cultural heritage destroyed during occupation

Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, spoke about the ancient Kingdom of Caucasian Albania and its rich Christian heritage during his speech at the Arab Media Forum.

Operativ Media reports that Hajiyev stated significant traces of this heritage have been preserved to this day, particularly in Karabakh and other territories of Azerbaijan.

He emphasized Azerbaijan's centuries-old traditions of multiculturalism and religious coexistence. Hajiyev noted that the country is committed to the protection, preservation, and restoration of its rich cultural and religious heritage, regardless of its origin or religious affiliation.

The presidential assistant also pointed out that large-scale destruction, desecration, and alterations were carried out against Azerbaijan's religious and cultural heritage during the years of occupation. He stressed the importance of preserving historical truth and passing cultural heritage down to future generations.

Hajiyev noted that alongside him, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Minister of Economy and Tourism of the UAE also participated in the panel. The panel was moderated by the Chief Executive Officer of Euronews.
