On September 16, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Kenya Sultan Hajiyev met with the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Kenya, Amason Jeffah Kingi.
The embassy told Operativ Media that Sultan Hajiyev spoke about the dynamic development of relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya over the past period. He emphasized that the establishment of an interparliamentary friendship group in the Kenyan Senate, as well as a working group on relations in the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, is an important milestone in bilateral ties. Senate Speaker A. J. Kingi expressed satisfaction with the pace of cooperation between the legislative bodies. He noted the significance of Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto's visit to Baku to participate in WUF13 in this context. He added that, alongside bilateral cooperation, developing effective collaboration between the parliaments on the international stage, including within the Non-Aligned Movement and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, serves the interests of both nations.
