FIFA Earns $5 Billion from 2026 World Cup Ticket Sales

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has generated $5 billion in revenue from ticket sales for the 2026 World Cup matches.

Operativ Media reports that this was disclosed by The Times newspaper, citing its own sources.

This figure is approximately 5.4 times higher than the $929 million FIFA earned from ticket sales at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

During the tournament, many fans criticized ticket prices as excessively high. Responding to an inquiry from The Times, FIFA stated that official financial figures will be disclosed in the organization's annual report.

The 2026 World Cup was hosted across three countries for the first time in history—the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Spain won the tournament after defeating Argentina 1-0 in extra time in the final.
