Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal is reportedly close to extending his contract with the club until 2031.

Operativ Media reports, citing Mundo Deportivo, that the release clause in the new agreement with the 19-year-old Spanish footballer will remain at €500 million.

It is reported that the club's sporting director, Deco, announced at the recent assembly that an agreement on a new contract with Bernal will be reached soon.

One of the key terms of the new deal is the retention of the €500 million release clause. It is noted that the club's management, reflecting their confidence in the player's potential, saw no need to increase this amount.

An academy product of Barcelona, Bernal has recorded two assists in eight appearances in the 2026/2027 season. He has been playing for the first team since July 2024.

The player's current contract runs until June 30, 2029. Transfermarkt values Bernal's market value at €30 million.
