"By 2030, the contribution of the mining and metallurgy sector to the gross domestic product is projected to increase from 700 million manats to 1.8 billion manats, and the annual export potential from 1.3 billion manats to 3.4 billion manats, based on 2025 average world prices."

Operativ Media reports that Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov made the remarks at a meeting chaired by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dedicated to the "State Program on the Development of the Mining (Metal Ores) and Metallurgical Industry in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027-2030."

"To achieve these results, a total investment of 5.3 billion manats is planned for the 2027–2030 period," the minister noted.
