Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Djibouti's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdulqadir Hussein Omar, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Operativ Media reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared a post about this.

During the meeting, the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-Djibouti relations were discussed. The sides emphasized the importance of continuing high-level contacts and political dialogue.

Opportunities for expanding cooperation in trade, economy, education, and humanitarian fields were reviewed.

Strengthening mutual support and coordination within the UN, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and other multilateral platforms was also discussed.

Azerbaijan's preparations to host the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Summit in 2027 and its upcoming chairmanship were also brought to the agenda during the meeting.

The ministers also discussed the security situation in the Middle East, noting the importance of de-escalation and the peaceful resolution of problems.
