International alliance against internet fraud to be established

Participants of the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum held in Lianyungang, China, have adopted a Joint Declaration on the establishment of an International Alliance to combat telecommunications and internet fraud.

The document states that the international community recognizes telecommunications and internet fraud as a global problem.

The statement notes that establishing an intergovernmental international organization—which will operate on the basis of international conventions and focus on professional, effective, and practical action—is of great practical importance in the joint fight against fraud.
