A meeting has been held with the participation of the leadership of the ports of Aktau, Kuryk, Turkmenbashi, Poti, and Batumi within the framework of the CICA (Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia) Port Authorities Conference, organized by ADY's Baku International Sea Trade Port.

According to information provided by ADY to Operativ Media, the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation to transform the Caspian and Black Sea basins into a more efficient, reliable, and competitive transport and logistics space.

During the discussions, the growing strategic importance of the Middle Corridor, strengthening coordination among regional ports, organizing cargo flows in a faster and more predictable manner, as well as opportunities for joint cooperation were reviewed.

It was noted that, according to preliminary figures for the first eight months of 2026, cargo turnover between the Port of Baku and Turkmen ports increased by 34.6% compared to the same period last year, while turnover with Kazakh ports grew by 6%.

During the meeting, the sides held a joint discussion on the challenges faced by the ports and exchanged views on developing regional cooperation on a more institutional and sustainable basis.
