Deputy Minister: Geography of Azerbaijan's international aid activities has expanded
Over the past 15 years, AIDA has played an important role in Azerbaijan's international humanitarian aid and development cooperation.
Operativ Media reports that Deputy Foreign Minister Yalcin Rafiyev said this at the conclusion of a conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA).
"During this period, the geography of Azerbaijan's aid activities has expanded. More than 140 countries have benefited from Azerbaijan's international assistance in various forms. Azerbaijan has provided support to Africa's small island states. It has also participated in initiatives to combat preventable blindness in Africa. In addition, it has assisted in the inclusion of the cultural heritage of Small Island States in the UNESCO World Heritage List," Rafiyev emphasized.
He noted that Azerbaijan shares its development experience with partner countries, particularly within the framework of South-South and triangular cooperation.
