Azerbaijan, Switzerland hold 10th meeting of Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation

The 10th meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Federal Council has been held.

The Ministry of Economy released information on the matter, Operativ Media reports.

The Joint Commission is co-chaired by Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Ambassador Andrea Rauber Saxer, the Delegate of the Swiss Federal Council for Trade Agreements and Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Division at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). During the meeting, the co-chairs reviewed priority areas for developing the Azerbaijani-Swiss economic partnership, as well as the current state of trade and investment relations.

Discussions also covered expanding the partnership with Switzerland both bilaterally and within the framework of international financial institutions.

New prospects for cooperation in industry, energy, the digital economy, innovation, agriculture, and tourism were highlighted. The meeting emphasized the opportunities created for foreign partners by Azerbaijan's favorable investment climate, strategic transport links, green energy potential, and ongoing digital transformation initiatives.

State support mechanisms implemented to foster business development in Azerbaijan, including in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, were also brought to attention.

A protocol was signed at the conclusion of the meeting.
