Hungary national team head coach Marco Rossi has explained the decision to call up Qarabag defender Bence Varkonyi to the national squad.

Operativ Media reports that Rossi said Varkonyi's call-up had also been discussed in June, but a different decision was made at the time.

“Since then, Bence Varkonyi has changed clubs, plays regularly, and is performing well at Qarabag. Therefore, we felt the right time had come for him to be with us,” the head coach said.
