Qarabag center-back Bence Varkonyi has been called up to the Hungary national team for the first time in his career.

Operativ Media reports that Hungary head coach Marco Rossi has included the 24-year-old defender in the squad announced for the upcoming four UEFA Nations League matches. Varkonyi is one of five new players called up to the national team for the first time.

As part of the UEFA Nations League, the Hungarian national team will host Ukraine on September 25. The team will then play away matches: against Northern Ireland on September 28, Georgia on October 2, and Ukraine again on October 5.
