Manchester United Want Unai Emery for Head Coach Role

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is among the candidates for the head coach position at Manchester United.

Operativ Media reports that according to journalist Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, influential figures within the English club's hierarchy view Emery as the ideal specialist to build the team's future.

However, Aston Villa have no intention of letting the Spanish manager leave either during the season or at its conclusion. Club executives Roberto Olabe and Damian Vidagany consider Emery a central figure in the project. The specialist is also involved in making transfer and other sporting decisions.

Unai Emery has been at the helm of the Birmingham side since November 2022. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2029. The Spanish manager won the Europa League with Aston Villa in 2026.

Notably, Manchester United, led by Michael Carrick, are winless in nine consecutive matches across all competitions. The team sits 17th in the English championship with seven points after nine rounds.
