Vance: Progress Made in US-Iran Talks
1 min read

U.S. Vice President JD Vance has stated that Washington and Tehran have made some progress during consultations aimed at resolving the conflict.

Operativ Media reports, citing Breaking the News, that he told reporters at Joint Base Andrews near Washington.

"We have had a series of good consultations with the Iranian side. About an hour ago, I discussed this matter with U.S. President Donald Trump. We have certainly made some progress. Let's see if we can achieve more," Vance said.

According to him, the U.S. administration remains optimistic about the possibility of a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

"Both the president and I view the prospects for a negotiated solution quite positively. We will continue working on it," the vice president emphasized.

At the same time, Vance noted that Trump does not rule out resuming strikes on Iran in the future or taking other measures against the Islamic Republic.

In addition, the vice president stated that Washington has not set a deadline for reaching an agreement with Tehran:

"We haven't set any timeframe. We have clearly stated what we want: we want the destruction of their nuclear program. We want to be sure that they will not rebuild it or attempt to rebuild it. That is what concerns the United States the most."
