Trump Calls $30 Billion Spent on War with Iran Insignificant
1 min read

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he considers the $30 billion spent on military operations against Iran to be an insignificant sum.

Operativ Media reports that he spoke about this during an appearance on Fox News.

According to Trump, a member of Congress criticized the spending of $30 billion on the war with Iran. The U.S. leader countered that this amount was very small and claimed Washington earned many times more from Venezuela.

The American president emphasized that the U.S. is acting from a position of strength in the conflict with Iran. He also noted that there is a high probability of reaching an agreement between the parties.

As a reminder, on November 2, Trump announced that he did not intend to resume military operations against Iran immediately after the Congressional midterm elections on November 3. On the same day, U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated that certain progress had been made in consultations aimed at ending the conflict with Tehran.

The U.S. and Israel launched military operations against Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.

However, on the night of July 8, the U.S. resumed large-scale strikes against the country, citing Iranian violations of the terms concerning the Strait of Hormuz under the agreed terms.

It should be noted that approximately 25 percent of the global oil trade and 20 percent of liquefied natural gas trade pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Subsequently, the U.S. administration announced its position to halt the large-scale use of military force against Iran and transition to a policy focused on exerting economic pressure through sanctions.
