Al-Hilal to prepare €55 million bid for Bruno Fernandes
Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal is looking to sign English club Manchester United's captain Bruno Fernandes during the winter transfer window.
Operativ Media reports, citing Tuttomercatoweb, that the Saudi side is preparing a €55 million (£45 million) offer in January for the Portuguese midfielder.
Talks regarding a new contract between Fernandes and Manchester United have so far been unsuccessful. His current agreement runs until the summer of 2027.
Al-Hilal attempted to sign the Portuguese footballer last year as well, but Fernandes turned down the offer. He rejected the Saudi club's approach on the grounds that he wanted to continue playing at the highest level. The player later admitted that he was disappointed, having believed Manchester United would not stand in the way of his departure.
Italian club AC Milan is also monitoring Fernandes' situation. The midfielder recently held open discussions with head coach Michael Carrick regarding his future.
The 32-year-old player remains a key figure at Manchester United. Nevertheless, the team's recent results and uncertainty over his future have fueled speculation of a potential departure during the winter transfer window.
No official bid has yet been submitted by Al-Hilal or any other club. However, as the end of Fernandes' contract nears, reports surrounding his potential transfer continue to increase.
