A total of 433 people have fallen victim to landmines in Azerbaijan since 2020.

Operativ Media reports that Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated this during a joint press conference with OSCE Chairman-in-Office Ignazio Cassis.

"After the territories were liberated from occupation, we saw that the scale of the problem was even larger. Azerbaijan is using its own resources to tackle this issue. Undoubtedly, there are countries providing support to Azerbaijan, but this is very small compared to Azerbaijan's own contribution. The threat of landmines and the presence of unexploded ordnance remain a problem for Azerbaijan. As an organization with expertise in this area, the OSCE can offer its support to Azerbaijan. Given the demining potential of the OSCE and its member states, Azerbaijan expects the OSCE to be more active," the minister noted.
