Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, Roberto Alvarez Gil, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Operativ Media reports that this was shared on the X social media account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the prospects for developing relations between Azerbaijan and the Dominican Republic were discussed. The sides emphasized the importance of institutionalizing political dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

The ministers exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest. The prospects for further developing coordination within international organizations were particularly highlighted.

Following the meeting, an Agreement on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports was signed between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Dominican Republic.

In addition, a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a political consultation mechanism was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic.

It was noted that the new documents will significantly contribute to expanding the institutional cooperation framework between the two countries and further developing relations between Azerbaijan and the Dominican Republic.
