Baku Declaration of OTS Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards Adopted
On September 14, the Baku Declaration was adopted within the framework of the 7th meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
Operativ Media reports that the Declaration reflects a number of important provisions on strengthening solidarity among Turkic states and peoples, promoting Turkic-Islamic spiritual and cultural values, developing religious education and scientific cooperation, and educating youth.
The document states that the joint fight against terrorism, extremism, separatism, Islamophobia, Turkophobia, inter-sectarian discrimination, and hate speech will continue. Protecting the rights of women and children, translating religious literature, preparing joint fatwas, and promoting the historical heritage of the Turkic world were also highlighted as priority areas.
