Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has stated that he wants to continue his football career for another 5-6 years.

Operativ Media reports that the 34-year-old Belgian goalkeeper plans to establish an academy in the future to train goalkeepers like himself.

"I want to play football for another 5-6 years. After that, I would like to set up an academy and train goalkeepers like me," journalist Fabrizio Romano quoted Courtois as saying.

It was previously reported that Courtois had agreed to extend his contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2028. His current contract with the Madrid club runs until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Courtois moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2018. He has won the Spanish league title three times and the Champions League twice with the Madrid side.

The Belgian goalkeeper has also won the Spanish Super Cup and the UEFA Super Cup three times each. His other titles with Real Madrid include the Copa del Rey, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the Intercontinental Cup.
