Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Colombia's Foreign Minister Omar Bula Escobar on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Operativ Media reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan shared this information on X.

Discussing the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and Colombia, the ministers emphasized the importance of further strengthening political dialogue and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the discussions, opportunities to strengthen economic ties and cooperation in tourism, education, and culture were reviewed. The sides also exchanged views on cooperation within multilateral platforms, including the UN, as well as regional and international processes and issues of mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Colombia signed an "Agreement on the Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements for Holders of Ordinary Passports," further strengthening the legal and institutional framework between the two countries.
