Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly to review current issues on the bilateral agenda and prospects for expanding cooperation.

The ministers discussed intensifying political dialogue, promoting mutual visits, and continuing contacts at various levels.

Special attention was paid to opportunities in trade, investment, digital transformation and innovation, transport and logistics, education, and human capital development.

The visa-free regime introduced for Singaporean citizens on August 1, 2026, was highlighted as a new opportunity to strengthen people-to-people contacts, travel, business ties, and tourism.

The ministers also exchanged views on continuing cooperation within the UN and other international organizations, including regarding candidacies to elected bodies.
