Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi plans to meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Operativ Media reports that this was announced by the Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali.

Responding to a question regarding the prospects of such a meeting, the diplomat noted, "We expect it to happen and we hope for it."
