Valencia has appointed Javier Aguirre as the team's head coach.

Operativ Media reports that a contract has been signed with the 67-year-old Mexican specialist until the end of the season. The agreement also includes an option to extend the contract for another year.

Valencia parted ways with Carlos Corberan on September 13. The team has collected 4 points after 7 rounds in La Liga and sits in 19th place in the standings.

Aguirre's last job was with the Mexican national team. He left the national team after the 2026 World Cup.

The specialist has previously managed Mallorca, Leganes, Espanyol, Zaragoza, Atletico, Osasuna, Atlante, Pachuca, Monterrey, and Al-Wahda clubs, as well as the national teams of Egypt and Japan.
