Azerbaijani culture is being presented with an extensive program from September 13 to 15 as part of the "Septembre Musical Montreux–Vevey" festival, one of Switzerland's prestigious cultural platforms.

Operativ Media reports that the Ministry of Culture released information about this.

Held under the motto "Azerbaijan: The Rhythms of Heritage," the presentation brings together Azerbaijan's centuries-old cultural heritage with modern forms of artistic expression.

To this end, a large Azerbaijani delegation has traveled to Montreux, Switzerland.

On September 13, an engaging concert program by the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble was presented as part of the festival.

At the concert held on Montreux's famous Auditorium Stravinski stage, the ensemble performed the "My Azerbaijan" and "Motherland" suites, as well as the "Dance with Gaval," "Gazakhi," "Wedding," "Sari Gelin," "Shali," "Nagharachilar," "My White Flower," "Dance with Scarves," "Gaytaghi," and "Naz Eleme" dances.

The program, reflecting the richness, temperament, and diversity of national choreography, music, and dance traditions, was received with great interest and applause by the audience.

The presentation of Azerbaijani dances on the main stage of one of Europe's renowned music platforms carries special symbolic meaning. Founded in 1946, "Septembre Musical Montreux–Vevey" is one of Switzerland's oldest classical music festivals and is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. Having brought together prominent figures of world music over various periods, the festival continues to operate today as an international cultural platform combining classical tradition with new artistic approaches and experimental formats.

The Auditorium Stravinski, one of the festival's main venues with a capacity of 1,800 spectators, is also an interesting site in music history. Back in 1956, the famous composer Igor Stravinsky conducted a program of his own works here as part of the Montreux festival. Today, the presentation of Azerbaijani national dance on that same stage is another expression of the dialogue that cultural heritage creates across different eras and geographies.

Azerbaijan's participation in the festival does not consist only of individual concerts. The "Azerbaijan: The Rhythms of Heritage" concept presents various layers of Azerbaijani culture—from mugham to symphonic music, national dance to jazz, and traditional musical instruments to the modern school of performance—within a single artistic space.

The main event of the festival's Azerbaijani program will be the "Azerbaijan Culture" gala concert, to be held on September 14 at the Auditorium Stravinski. The program, featuring approximately 200 Azerbaijani artists, will bring together classical and symphonic music, mugham, jazz, national musical instruments, and the art of dance.

The Azerbaijani program in Montreux presents the foreign audience not just with individual examples of art, but with a complete cultural portrait of Azerbaijan—a nation that preserves its traditions while engaging in dialogue with an international audience through modern cultural content. "The Rhythms of Heritage" demonstrates that cultural memory spanning centuries is growing even stronger today, developing and creating new artistic forms.

The professional and systematic presentation of our culture on an internationally prestigious art platform like the Montreux Classical Music Festival is also of particular importance for implementing the priorities set by the "Azerbaijan Culture – 2040" Concept for the international promotion of cultural heritage and national art.

It should be noted that Azerbaijani culture is represented at the festival by Alim Qasimov, Murad Huseynov, Yusif Eyvazov, Afag Abbasova, Sevda Alakbarzadeh, Elvin Hoxha Ganiyev, Elmina Hasan, Fuad Ibrahimov, Isfar Sarabski, Jeyla Seyidova, Azer Zada, and other well-known art figures.
