President Ilham Aliyev receives Secretary-General of Muslim Council of Elders
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, on September 14.
Operativ Media reports that during the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev and Mohamed Abdelsalam recalled their previous meetings with satisfaction.
The successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Muslim Council of Elders was highlighted. The sides also touched upon Azerbaijan's important global role in strengthening Islamic solidarity, emphasizing the significance of the 7th meeting of Muslim religious leaders of the Organization of Turkic States held in Baku, as well as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Summit to be hosted by Azerbaijan next year. It was also noted that religious relations in the country are regulated at a high level.
During the conversation, it was recalled that the President of Azerbaijan was honored with the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity earlier this year. The guest presented the certificate of the award to the head of state.
