Athletes of the Special Olympics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan have performed successfully at the Special Olympics European Open Swimming Competition Malta 2026.

Operativ Media reports that the Azerbaijani team took first place in the 4x50-meter freestyle relay with a time of 3:14.55.

Azerbaijani athletes also secured podium finishes in the individual events. Mirgayib Rasulov claimed second place in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 32.70 seconds, and second in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 31.26 seconds.

Georgiy Ganiyev finished second in the 50-meter backstroke in 38.60 seconds, and third in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 31.47 seconds.

Agasalim Abdullayev took second place in the 25-meter breaststroke with a time of 29.18 seconds. He also finished fourth in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:04.80.

Mahammad Ali placed third in the 50-meter backstroke with a time of 1:19.92, and sixth in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 1:09.64.
