The Turkic Union of Composers has been established within the framework of the 1st Congress of Composers of the Turkic World.

Operativ Media reports that the Turkic Union of Composers (TUC) was founded by representatives of leading music organizations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary.

The establishment of the Turkic Union of Composers was formalized with the signing of the Baku Declaration. This lays the foundation for permanent professional cooperation among composers, musicologists, performers, conservatories, music academies, and creative unions of Turkic countries.

The 1st Congress of Composers of the Turkic World is being held on September 18–20, 2026, as part of the 18th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival. The project is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, in collaboration with the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku, the Union of Azerbaijan Composers, and the Azerbaijan National Conservatory.
