The European Boxing Championship continues in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

Operativ Media reports, citing the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, that Subhan Mamedov (50 kg) defeated Istvan Szakan 3-2 to reach the semifinals, securing at least a bronze medal. The Azerbaijani boxer will face Samet Gumus for a place in the final.

Amin Mammadzada (55 kg) defeated Billal Bennama 3-2 to advance to the semifinals, also securing at least a bronze. He will face Vyacheslav Rogozin in the next round.

Mahammad Abdullayev (+90 kg) beat Omar Shiha 3-2 to reach the semifinals, securing at least a bronze medal. He will take on Damar Thomas for a spot in the final.

Also today, Nabi Isgandarov (70 kg) will face John McConnell in the semifinals, while Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) will take on Kevin Scott in the quarterfinals.

The tournament will conclude on September 25.
