No transition to 12-year education planned in Azerbaijan, minister says
Şəfa Hüseynli
Azerbaijan has no plans to transition to a 12-year education system.
Operativ Media reports that this was stated by the Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, at a press conference dedicated to the new academic year.
According to the minister, a three-year bachelor's degree program is planned for the near future, but a 12-year secondary school education is not in the plans:
"A transition to a 12-year education system is not on the agenda. I think that, perhaps, considering the age of graduates, bachelor's programs could be reduced to three years for certain specialties."
